Construction Update — November
As of the beginning of November, DTC’s construction crew has laid fiber lines in front of approximately 5,000 addresses, and with continued diligence, they hope to increase that number to 6,500 by the end of the year.
Most recently, 623 homes and businesses in north and east Milton gained access to the fastest internet available.
The following locations are currently being worked on:
Wilson County’s Norene exchange
DeKalb County’s Smithville exchange, north of Smithville city limits along Cookeville Highway
Auburntown exchange, along Kennedy Creek Road
South Carthage along Plunket’s Creek and Rawls Creek roads
Residents and businesses in these areas can expect the opportunity to be connected in the next couple of months.
Next up for construction crews in 2019 are Rutherford County’s Milton exchange in the Twelve Corners area and the Alup Mill area of the Wilson County Norene exchange.
Anyone interested in signing up for DTC fiber is strongly encouraged to reach out via the online form at DTCFiber.net. Community interest helps determine which areas will be next to receive fiber connections. Additionally, submissions from households and businesses outside of the DTC service area are helpful in the acquisition of grants for expansion.
