Construction Update — May
3:44PM May 29, 2018
As May draws to a close, construction crews continue the buildout of fiber internet infrastructure in the DTC service area.
Dozens of new homes and businesses are being connected weekly. At this time, crews are at work in the Milton Exchange in Rutherford County, in the Smithville Exchange — northeast of the city limits along Cookeville Highway (HWY-56) — and in the Auburntown Exchange along Kennedy Creek Road.
Construction is expected to be completed within these specific areas by the end of this year, with additional areas following suit in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Anyone interested in signing up for DTC fiber is strongly encouraged to reach out via the online form at DTCFiber.net. Community interest helps determine which areas will be next to receive fiber connections. Additionally, submissions from households and businesses outside of the DTC service area are helpful in the acquisition of grants for expansion.
